Voting

Well, I did my civic duty and voted.  It was surreal.  In front of the door to the polling place they had some handicapped spots set up.  There was a car that had the whole backend of it covered in anti-bush bumper stickers.  Like “2009 the end of an Error” and stuff like that.  I thought wow, I bet they are glad this day came.  Inside standing in line waiting to vote behind me was a lady, probably not much older than me who was wearing a filthy ripped up sweatsuit, carrying two stuffed full plastic shopping bags, and wearing duct tape shoes.  I had seen this lady last year on voting day, but at a spot at about 7 miles away. She must have walked all the way here.  She had identification and voted.  As I was on the way out of the building, getting into the car with all the anti-bush bumper stickers was an older white couple escorting a much older man wearing a World War II veteran hat.  I did not expect that.  Oh, and I offered the lady with the duct tape shoes a ride and she angrily shooed me off.

Very strange.
